Jazz Cats
This was my absolute favourite painting to make this year. I must say, Lackadaisy was something of an inspiration, as was The Cat Piano, one of the THE best Australian animations of all time (in my most humble opinion). Something about jazz and cats…the self-assured, graceful and sexy atmosphere that jazz creates, perhaps.

Hi and a happy new year, Wow, that does look really great, and seeing how you do it makes it the more interesting. By the way do you know if the cat piano is available as a DVD or tape to watch? I would love to see it. Quite a while ago I saw a animated movie called Cats Don’t Dance, I believe it was called, it was really good. have you seen it? And thanks for sharing the WIP shots, look forward to seeing Red Tails again.
Yes, are you in an NTSC country? (USA, Canada, and I forget where else) The Cat Piano website has a link HERE to get a NTSC DVD. And regular PAL ones for us Aussies are to be found HERE. They’re on Amazon too.
I haven’t watched Cat’s Don’t Dance, but thanks to the magic of the internet it’s now loading and I’ll watch it during my lunch break. Hoorah for internets!
