The research for this page was thoroughly enjoyable. I sifted through dozens of baroque and late renaissance architecture, furniture and general interior decorating to get Raphael’s ‘office’ just right. Marble-tiled floors seemed all the rage, but in the end I settled for wood as, despite his wealth, this Guild Master is still provincial, and Mafekin is still a ‘country town’.

And I really want a feather quill now. It was my birthday last week, and dammit I forgot to ask for one.
